If your ability to complete an assessment or exam has been impaired due to circumstances beyond your control (such as illness, injury, bereavement or trauma), you will need to apply for Special Consideration.

For internal assessments (like assignments and tests), you should apply in writing to the examiner of your paper within three days of the assessment due date. Include supporting evidence, such as a medical certificate.

For external examinations, you must review the Special Consideration webpage for details on supporting evidence and application information.

To apply for Special Consideration under medical or compassionate circumstances you must see a registered medical practitioner, dental practitioner, midwife, registered psychologist or counsellor as soon as possible, but within five working days of the examination affected. Applications for external examinations must be submitted within 5 business days of each individual examination with the appropriate supporting evidence.

Before you visit you practitioner, psychologist or counsellor, Assessment Regulations.
